About
Imane Anys, known as Pokimane, is a Moroccan-Canadian streamer who co-founded OfflineTV.[1] She was born in Morocco on May 14, 1996, and grew up in Ontario, Canada.[1] She began streaming in high school.[2] Her screen name combines Pokémon with her first name.[1]
From League of Legends to full-time streaming
She began streaming League of Legends in 2013 with a $250 PC bought on Kijiji.[1][3] While studying chemical engineering at McMaster University, she kept a regular streaming schedule, and she later left the program to stream full time.[1][3] She won the Twitch Streamer category at the tenth Shorty Awards in 2018.[4][1] In March 2020 she signed a multi-year exclusivity deal with Twitch.[1]
OfflineTV and her companies
She officially left OfflineTV on May 19, 2023.[1] Forbes named her to its 2021 30 Under 30 list in the games category.[1] In October 2021 she helped launch RTS, a talent management and brand consulting firm, as its chief creative officer.[1][5] She launched Myna, a company selling snack cookies, in November 2023, and started the podcast Don't Tell Anyone the following month.[1] She ended her Twitch exclusivity in January 2024, so she could stream on other platforms while continuing to broadcast on Twitch.[6][7]
