About

RocketLeague is Psyonix Studios' official Twitch channel for Rocket League, the game that combines football with player-controlled cars.[1][2] It carries official Rocket League Championship Series broadcasts, usually shortened to RLCS.[3]

The first championship series

Twitch and Psyonix announced the RLCS on March 2, 2016, through an exclusive partnership.[3] The inaugural season invited three-player teams to enter open qualifiers and offered a total prize pool of $75,000.[3] PlayStation 4 and Windows PC were the announced platforms, and RocketLeague was the exclusive Twitch destination for the playoff tournaments.[3]

Regional play and World Championship coverage

For the opening event of the 2026 season, the channel was named as an English-language broadcaster for North American and European competition, alongside Rocket League Esports on YouTube.[4] The September 2026 World Championship broadcast plan placed the main feed on RocketLeague and simultaneous early-round matches on the separate RLEsports Twitch account.[5]

Platform and trading changes

In January 2020, Psyonix announced that native macOS and Linux versions would lose online functionality in March. It cited the difficulty of supporting them as the game evolved. After refund complaints, it clarified that affected players could seek refunds for the base game through Valve.[6][7]

Player-to-player trading ended in December 2023 despite community criticism. Psyonix said the change aligned the game with Epic's policies for cosmetics and item shops.[8][9][10]
