About
Félix Lengyel, known as xQc, is a variety streamer who was Twitch's most-watched streamer from 2020 to 2022.[1] He was born in Laval, Quebec, on November 12, 1995. He formerly competed in Overwatch and represented Canada at the game's World Cup.[1] He plays games and reacts to videos on Twitch and Kick.[2]
Competitive Overwatch
Denial Esports recruited him in October 2016.[1] At the 2017 Overwatch World Cup, Canada reached the final and lost to South Korea, and he was named the event's most valuable player.[3][1] He joined Dallas Fuel of the Overwatch League in October 2017 as a tank player.[1]
In January 2018, the league fined him $2,000 and suspended him for four matches after an anti-gay remark; he apologized.[1] A second suspension followed in March for an emote the league considered racially disparaging; he denied racist intent, and Dallas Fuel released him on March 11.[4][1]
Variety streaming
In 2022 he won the Just Chatting category at the Streamy Awards and Best Variety Streamer at The Streamer Awards.[1]
In June 2023, Kick signed him to a two-year, non-exclusive deal reportedly worth $70 million. Incentives could raise the total to $100 million, and he remained free to keep streaming on Twitch.[1][5] That July, creators criticized his reaction videos; he defended the commentary he added and offered creators the proceeds from full-video reactions.[6][7]
