About
Bao The Whale is a VTuber who records music and works as a voice actress.[1][2] She voiced Ai Mochizuki in the 2025 English dub of A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2.[3][4] By May 2025, she had sung the English version of "Lulala! Lululala!", Ciaccona's song in Wuthering Waves.[2]
From Hikaru Station to Bao
Before VTubing, she released original music and covers on YouTube as Hikaru Station.[5] Her single "52 Hearts" came out in 2020.[6]
In a December 2022 interview, she explained that using an avatar let her express more of her personality after feeling self-conscious on camera.[5] She left school to concentrate on VTubing.[5] Her Bao persona is the reincarnation of the 52-hertz whale.[7]
The Bikini Bottoms
The 2022 interview also described her friendships with fellow VTubers Numi and Yuzu.[5] Bao, Numi and Shylily recorded the first episode of The Bikini Bottoms podcast during a stream on her channel on March 20, 2023. The trio released "Miss RGB" as The Bikini Bottoms in July 2024.
