About
BarbarousKing is a variety gaming streamer and the creator of the Grand Poo World series of Mario ROM hacks.[1][2] He named the games after his friend and Mario speedrunner GrandPooBear.[3][4] The trilogy was released in 2017, 2019 and 2023.[2]
Making Grand Poo World
He began designing levels in Super Mario Maker (2015). Grand Poo World 2 took nearly a year to make with help from a small team. Players must solve puzzles that break the fourth wall to reach its true ending.[3]
BarbarousKing streamed much of the development of Grand Poo World 2 on Twitch but kept some secret elements off-stream. MitchFlowerPower speedran the game at Summer Games Done Quick 2019.[5]
By February 2020, BarbarousKing had announced that work had begun on Grand Poo World 3.[5]
In November 2025, MP Ben Goldsborough named BarbarousKing and the Grand Poo World trilogy during a UK parliamentary debate about video games and consumer law.[6]
