About
Braxton Pierce, known as brax and formerly as swag, is a former professional player who signed the first publicly announced professional VALORANT contract with T1 by March 2020.[1][2] He also competed in Counter-Strike before becoming a streamer.[2][3] HLTV ranked him 18th among its best players of 2014, when he represented compLexity and iBUYPOWER.[4]
Counter-Strike and early life
He was already playing Counter-Strike professionally at 15 in 2012.[2] His mother and older brother accompanied him to tournaments.[2] After investigating a 2014 fixed match, Valve indefinitely banned him and three iBUYPOWER teammates from its events. He later said that for the first year he hoped the ban would be lifted.[2]
Born in Charlotte, he moved to Louisiana as a child.[2] Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home in 2005, and he moved back to North Carolina.[2] He attended Ragsdale High School in Greensboro.
VALORANT and streaming
His T1 teammates included Skadoodle and Victor Wong, then known as food.[2] By March 2021, TSM had signed him as the sixth member of its VALORANT roster.[5] He later returned to T1, then stepped down from its competitive lineup on October 21, 2021, to stream full-time for the organization.[3]
He now makes CS2 content and analysis.[6]
