Virgo streamers

Only Hydra covers more sky than Virgo. Virgo is the largest zodiac constellation and the second largest overall, with the Virgo Cluster of galaxies within it. Its brightest star has a smaller, earthly namesake: Spica means "ear of grain" in Latin.

The sign's maiden symbol also appears in Greek and Roman traditions about Demeter and Persephone. Another figure linked to her is Astraea, the goddess of justice who left the earth at the end of the Silver Age. Virgo covers August 23 to September 22. In astrology, Mercury rules the sign, whose element is earth and whose modality is mutable.
