About

Dream, whose first name is Clay, is an American creator of Minecraft videos and livestreams. He opened his YouTube account in 2014 and began uploading regularly in July 2019.[1]

Manhunt and the Dream SMP

In Minecraft Manhunt, his friends try to kill him before he can defeat the Ender Dragon.[2] He also created the Dream SMP with GeorgeNotFound. The invitation-only Minecraft server launched in April 2020.[3] In August 2022, Guinness World Records reported that he had received titles for the most-subscribed dedicated Minecraft YouTube channel and the most-viewed Minecraft gameplay video on YouTube. The channel had 29.3 million subscribers when first verified on June 16, 2022. The video record belonged to Minecraft Speedrunner VS 3 Hunters GRAND FINALE, which had over 114 million views.[2]

In December 2020, moderators removed a Minecraft speedrun he submitted from the leaderboard.[4] In May 2021, Dream acknowledged using a prohibited mod but said he had not intended to cheat.[5]

Appearing on camera

After years of using a smiling mask and an anonymous avatar, he revealed his face on October 2, 2022, in a video called hi, I'm Dream.[3] He said that he wanted to meet friends and other creators and make more content outside his home.[1]

Music releases

His first single, Roadtrip, was a collaboration with PmBata released in 2021.[6] His music releases include the EP To Whoever Wants to Hear, released on September 1, 2023, through Mercury and Republic.[7][1]
