About

Jan Krüger, known as pChal, is a German streamer and YouTuber who specializes in Pokémon Nuzlocke challenges.[1][2] By July 2021, he had completed Pokémon Emerald Kaizo under Nuzlocke rules after 151 attempts over a year.[3] In 2016, he completed Pokémon FireRed using a single Rattata without letting it faint.[4]

Nuzlocke rules and streaming

He began streaming in early 2016.[5] In his hardcore Nuzlocke runs, he bans items during battle and limits his team's level to that of the next gym leader's strongest Pokémon.[6]

His YouTube and Twitch channels grew in 2020 after he reviewed a Nuzlocke attempt by Jaiden Animations.[6][2]

In a July 2024 interview with IGM, he was on his fifth attempt at Pokémon Run & Bun, another modified Pokémon game.[5] He was nominated for Best Strategy Game Streamer at the 2025 Streamer Awards.[7]
