TheJoCraft makes educational Minecraft and Redstone videos and works on participatory city planning.[1] His name is Josef Heinrich Bogatzki, and he streams under the handle thejocraft_live.[2][3]
He discovered Minecraft in 2010, reached 100,000 YouTube subscribers in 2017 and began actively streaming on Twitch in 2018.[3]
Building cities in Minecraft
Bogatzki worked with the city of Oberursel in 2017 to develop Oberurselcraft, which invited children and teenagers to take part in urban planning through the game.[3] For WohnRegion, he and the Deutsches Architekturmuseum made Minecraft missions from planning challenges submitted by eight Rhine-Main municipalities. The project's map was available until September 30, 2022.[4]
He completed a Bachelor of Arts in 2022 and went on to study for a teaching master's degree in German and music at the University of Münster.[3][1] In a FabrikFunk interview recorded in 2025 and published in March 2026, he discussed how Minecraft could support learning and help people imagine future cities.[5]
