About
Thomas Chance Morris, known as Sodapoppin, is an American streamer who built his early audience through World of Warcraft.[1][2] He was born in Austin, Texas, on February 15, 1994.[1] He began streaming on Twitch in 2012.[1][2] Morris co-owned Northern Gaming, which was founded in May 2016. NRG acquired the organization in August 2017, and he joined its ownership group and became an advisor.[1][3]
Blackjack and Among Us
In May 2015, he lost $5,000 on a single blackjack hand while more than 43,000 viewers watched.[1] He first streamed Among Us with friends on July 15, 2020. His broadcasts helped the game reach Twitch's top 50 by average viewers that month.[4]
Twitch suspension and One True King
In April 2022, Twitch suspended him for two weeks after a stream in which he applied makeup to a game character while saying "blackface"; Twitch did not disclose its reason. He said he had been naive; after returning, he said he deserved the ban.[5][6]
On July 21, 2022, One True King announced that he was joining as a content creator and co-owner.[7][8] He won Best MMORPG Streamer at the Streamer Awards ceremony in February 2024 and again in December 2025.[9][10][11]
