About

Friedrich Meinecke, known as Fritz Meinecke, is a German video creator who created the survival series 7 vs. Wild.^[1][2] He won its first season, which aired from November to December 2021; the winner's EUR 10,000 prize was designated for charity.^[2]

7 vs. Wild

The first season sent seven participants into the Swedish wilderness for seven days. Each could take seven objects in addition to clothing.^[2] Meinecke competed in the first three seasons and joined the production team for season four.^[1] By June 2025, he had announced his departure and said he was not involved in season five.^[3]

Earlier work

Before his video career, he trained as a bank clerk and worked at a bank. He began running his main YouTube channel in 2014.^[2] In 2016, he co-hosted Die Geschichtsjäger with Wigald Boning. He published Der Abenteurer: Alles, was man über Outdoor wissen muss in 2017 and received a Lifestyle nomination at that year's Webvideopreis.^[1]

2022 controversies

In May 2022, a Cologne court fined him 60,000 euros for taking part in an illegal car race and withdrew his driving licence.^[1] After a July 2022 video in which he commented on a woman by a Hungarian roadside, the insurance app Clark put its cooperation with him on hold; he first said viewers who found it sexist were on the wrong channel, then removed the scene.^[6][1]
