About
Pol Turrents is a cinematographer who streams as polispol1. He received a Gaudí Award nomination for his work on Xtrems (2009).[1] TikTok awarded him its gaming Creador Referente prize at For You Fest in 2022.[2]
He began broadcasting on Twitch in 2020 and went on to discuss cinema and play games, including Minecraft in Tortilland.[1]
Camera work and television
Turrents began working at local television stations in Barcelona at fourteen and also did junior work on advertising shoots. He chose cinematography because he enjoyed working with light and had little interest in directing actors. In a 2016 interview, he recalled that his father was a mechanic and his mother a hairdresser.[3]
His cinematography credits include the films Negro Buenos Aires, Enxaneta and Venus, as well as the television series La Riera. He supervised TV3's early stereoscopic 3D broadcasts and worked with Sony on RTVE's first 4K broadcast.[4]
