Cancer streamers

City skies hide Cancer from the naked eye. It is the dimmest zodiac constellation, with only two stars brighter than fourth magnitude. At its center sits the Beehive Cluster. It is an open star cluster, also known by the names Praesepe and Messier 44.

Cancer's crab comes from a fight in Greek myth. While Heracles battled the Lernaean Hydra, a crab appeared; Hera placed it among the stars. The crab is the symbol of the cardinal water sign, ruled by the Moon. Its dates run from June 21 to July 22.
