About
Sacriel explains combat strategy through his gaming broadcasts.[1] Splash Damage announced in March 2023 that he and shroud were working with the studio on Project Astrid, an open-world survival game. The announcement described both streamers as core members of the development team who contributed their experience as players and broadcasters.[2]
From product manager to streamer
Chris Ball, known online as Sacriel, began streaming in early June 2012.[2][3] Later that year, he took redundancy from an internet service provider after six years as a product manager. He combined the payment with his savings to pursue streaming full time.[3]
The 42nd community
His viewers took the name The 42nd from his YouTube channel, Sacriel42; the number referred to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. His wife Shannon is his community manager and was one of his early Twitch moderators. The couple met in his Twitch chat.[3] Ball is British and lives in British Columbia, Canada.[4][3]
