Jose Antonio Vargas, known as Angry Joe, is an American commentator whose AngryJoeShow channel reviews video games and films.[1] He was nominated for Trending Gamer at The Game Awards 2016.[2]

He launched the channel on October 4, 2008, with a video criticizing Madden 2009. His game reviews use a rating scale from 1 to 10 and combine sketch comedy with footage from his Twitch streams.[1] He also reviews board games in AJ's Tabletime.[3]

Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game

Vargas developed Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game with Jasco Games.[4] The officially licensed tabletop game accommodates two to six players.[5] Its Kickstarter campaign launched in April 2018 and raised $400,000 on its first day. The game began shipping to backers in January 2021. He also worked with Jasco Games on Mortal Kombat: The Miniatures Game.[1]

Copyright disputes

In December 2013, he criticized YouTube's Content ID system after it flagged dozens of his videos and prevented him from earning advertising revenue from them.[6] In April 2015, he removed a Mario Party 10 video after a copyright claim from Nintendo and said he would stop making videos about its games.[7]
