About

Sidney Deon Bruce Friede, known online as SidneyEweka, is a former midfielder who helped found Delay Sports Berlin in 2021.[1][2] He founded the club with Elias Nerlich after injuries ended his professional football career.[2]

He joined Hertha BSC's academy at 14 and signed his first professional contract in January 2018.[1][2] He made 47 appearances for Hertha's under-23 team in the Regionalliga Nordost and played for Germany at under-19 and under-20 level.[2] His subsequent clubs included Royal Excel Mouscron and Wehen Wiesbaden, followed by Dunajská Streda in 2020 and 2021.[2][1]

Building Delay Sports

Delay Sports started in Berlin's lowest league. Friede said the founders wanted to earn their promotions on the pitch instead of taking over a club in a higher division.[3] By July 2026, the team had won four consecutive championships and promotions.[2]

By that month, Friede and Niklas-Wilson Sommer had also hosted Zalando's 90+ video format, in which they followed German national players during their preparations for the World Cup.[4]
