About

Elias Nerlich, known online as eliasn97 and Eligella, is a German creator who founded the indoor football competition The Icon League with Toni Kroos.^[1]^[2] Born in Berlin on December 10, 1997, he completed his Abitur in 2018. A football injury in 2016 led him to spend more time playing FIFA. He went on to represent Hertha BSC in esports before leaving the club in August 2021.^[1]

In a February 2022 Kicker interview, Nerlich explained that creating content gave him the freedom to switch from FIFA to other games. At FOKUS, where he had joined the management, he could also help decide which players to recruit. He also discussed the Eligella XMAS-Cup, an offline FIFA tournament he had organized with esports players.^[3]

Football clubs and competitions

Nerlich and Sidney Friede co-founded Delay Sports Berlin in 2021. The amateur club entered league competition in the 2022/23 season.^[2]
