Aries streamers

A golden ram rescued Phrixus and Helle in Greek myth, then carried Phrixus to Colchis. Hellenistic astrology linked that ram to Aries. In the sky, the ram is a relatively dim constellation. Only four of its stars are bright, and Hamal is the brightest. Aries comes first in the zodiac. Its dates are March 21 to April 19, and astrology gives this cardinal fire sign to Mars.

The name also survives in the First Point of Aries, the vernal equinox point. That point has moved into Pisces because of precession and will reach Aquarius around 2600 AD. The Sun now crosses the Aries constellation from late April through mid-May.
