Markiplier is Mark Edward Fischbach, an American video creator known for playthroughs of horror games, including Amnesia and Five Nights at Freddy's. He began making gaming videos in 2012 and later expanded into interactive films and podcasts.[1]
Interactive projects and collaborators
His YouTube projects include A Heist with Markiplier (2019) and In Space with Markiplier (2022), which let viewers choose how the story proceeds. With Ethan Nestor, he ran Unus Annus from November 2019 to November 2020, when they deleted the channel and its videos as planned.[1]
In 2021, he launched Distractible with Bob Muyskens and Wade Barnes.[1]
Iron Lung and fundraising
Fischbach directed, financed and starred in the horror film Iron Lung, released in 2026.[1] In a YouTube interview, he described adapting the game's confined submarine setting and distributing the film himself.[2] In 2020, the Cancer Research Institute gave him its Oliver R. Grace Award for his fundraising for the organization.[3]
