About
Jason Gastrow makes gaming comedy and video essays under the name videogamedunkey. His reviews have also covered films, including The Shining.[1] On Twitch, he streams as dunkstream.[2] He and his wife Leah founded the indie game publisher Bigmode in 2022.[3]
His online work began with Flash animations uploaded to Newgrounds as MeatwadSprite in 2003.[1] He opened his videogamedunkey YouTube channel with a Battletoads speedrun in 2010.[4] He stopped making League of Legends videos in September 2015 after a ban for abusive behavior in the game.[1] In his response, he defended trash talking as something that made the game more enjoyable for him.[5]
Publishing through Bigmode
Gastrow and Leah Bee, also a YouTuber, married in September 2019.[1] Bigmode announced Animal Well as its first game in January 2023; Billy Basso's game was released on May 9, 2024.[6][7] The publisher later released Star of Providence as its second game, for PC and Nintendo Switch.[8]
