About

The Nintendo Twitch account is the official channel of Nintendo of America.[1] The company was established in 1980 and is based in Redmond, Washington, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd.[2]

Treehouse broadcasts at E3

Nintendo announced two broadcasts for the channel at E3 2014: a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U invitational with 16 players and Nintendo Treehouse: Live.[3] Treehouse was scheduled for June 10 to 12 and would include game demonstrations from the show floor and visits from developers including Shigeru Miyamoto.[3] Staff demonstrated upcoming games and talked with developers during the event; the second day included Splatoon and Mario Maker.[4]

Communications executive Charlie Scibetta explained the approach in 2019: a Nintendo Direct presentation introduced games, and experts and developers then explored them in more detail in Treehouse sessions.[5] Nintendo continued to pair the formats in its September 2026 announcement and invited viewers to watch Treehouse gameplay of selected titles after the Direct.[6]
