About
Frédéric Molas plays the title character in Joueur du Grenier and also streams as Joueur_du_Grenier on Twitch.[1] He created the comedy series with Sébastien Rassiat in 2009. Inspired by Angry Video Game Nerd, it focuses on reviews of poorly designed retro games.[2]
Molas studied business communication for a BTS and attended training at Institut de Développement et Enseignement Multimédia.[3] In an October 2009 interview, he described how Rassiat handled sound and set up the camera and lighting, while both worked on editing. He estimated that an episode took about a week, from testing the game to editing the video.[4]
Papy Grenier followed in 2012. In it, Molas plays a grandfather who retells video-game adventures as his own memories.[2][1] Their secondary channel, Bazar du Grenier, officially launched in April 2015 with Aventures, a tabletop role-playing series.[1] It also carries playthroughs and film reviews.[5] In October 2023, Molas and Rassiat opened L'Arcadia, a pirate-themed bar in Fougères.[1]
