About
Carlos Mauricio Gómez, known as Komanche, is a Salvadoran Twitch creator who helped organize the Minecraft event Squid Craft Games.[1][2][3] He was born in Ilobasco on September 27, 1996, and grew up in San Sebastian, San Vicente, where he lived until he was 24.[4]
Squid Craft Games
He worked with Auronplay, Rubius and Twitch Rivals on Squid Craft Games, the Minecraft event inspired by Squid Game.[5][3] The first edition took place in January 2022 and offered its winner a $100,000 prize.[5]
The second edition ran from February 28 to March 5, 2023.[3] Its 200 participants faced 12 games across six days. Sapnap won, and Shadoune finished second.[3] Challenges ranged from a bull chase to a drawing-and-guessing game played in groups of five.[3] Komanche and Rubius presented the participant announcement on February 21.[3]
Squid Craft Games won the content miniseries award at the 2023 ESLAND ceremony in Mexico on January 29.[2] Komanche collected the award wearing a shirt a fan had given him during a visit to El Salvador.[2] The second edition received the same category award in 2024.[5]
