About
Giorgio Calandrelli, known as POW3R, has competed professionally in Call of Duty on consoles and Overwatch and Fortnite on PC.[1][2] He now identifies himself as co-owner and president of the Italian esports organisation NOVO.[2]
Joining NOVO
In an interview published by Tuttosport in April 2024, Calandrelli explained his decision to join NOVO. He had explored starting an organisation with Brizz, but chose an existing team with established operations and plans for the following years.[1]
He planned to draw on his experience at Fnatic for NOVO's organisational model. He cited Karmine Corp and KOI as organisations whose business models interested him, while NOVO chief executive Emanuele Acerbis pointed to Calandrelli's experience at Fnatic.[1]
University and gaming
Calandrelli studied energy engineering at Sapienza before leaving the course and later attending a private university in Rome.[3] He subsequently left his architecture studies with three exams remaining. In a 2019 interview, he described that choice as allowing him to concentrate on a career in gaming.[4]
