About

TenZ, whose real name is Tyson Van Ngo, is a Canadian streamer and two-time Valorant Masters winner from Nanaimo, British Columbia. He played professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for Cloud9 before moving to Valorant, and now creates content for T1.[1][2] His mother, Valerie Turcotte, supported his move into esports; he moved to Los Angeles shortly after finishing high school.[3][4]

Two Masters wins with Sentinels

In April 2020, Ngo became Cloud9's first professional Valorant player. ShahZaM contacted him about joining Sentinels, which initially signed him on loan in 2021, then bought out his contract.[1][4] That year, he helped the team win Masters Reykjavik, Valorant's first international LAN tournament.[5][1][4] At Masters Madrid in March 2024, Sentinels defeated Gen.G 3-2 in the final, and he earned a second Masters title.[6][1]

Retirement from competition

Ngo announced his retirement from professional Valorant in September 2024 to concentrate on content creation.[7]
