About

Halo Studios runs the official Halo channel on Twitch.[1] The Halo Championship Series named the channel as a broadcast destination in its 2025 roadmap, which set out a fourth consecutive year of esports support for Halo Infinite.[2]

Studio history

The studio is part of Xbox Game Studios and was formerly known as 343 Industries. Microsoft established it in 2007 after Bungie, the original Halo developer, regained its independence. Its mainline Halo games included Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite.[3] In October 2024, the studio announced its new name and plans to use Unreal Engine 5 for future Halo projects. It presented Project Foundry, a research project exploring Halo in the new engine, and clarified that it was not a new game.[4]

Plans announced in 2026

Microsoft announced in September 2026 that Activision would develop the next Halo title. Under those plans, a small team at Halo Studios would continue supporting existing games and the Halo community.[5]
