About
John Patrick Douglass, known as Jacksfilms, is a comedian and YouTuber whose series include Your Grammar Sucks and Yesterday I Asked You.[1][2] He won YouTuber of the Year at the 2018 Shorty Awards and Comedy at the 2019 Streamy Awards.[3][4][5]
Douglass launched his main YouTube channel in June 2006.[4] His WTF Blanket parody of the Snuggie attracted widespread attention in 2009.[6] He began Your Grammar Sucks in June 2011 to mock internet comments with spelling and grammar errors. Its hundredth episode featured Markiplier and jacksepticeye. He has also collaborated with PewDiePie.[4]
Douglass launched JackAsk in January 2014 to answer viewer questions satirically.[7]
Yesterday I Asked You
Douglass started Yesterday I Asked You, or YIAY, in February 2015.[2][3] He asks viewers a question and features selected replies in the next video.[8][3] He announced a Twitch game-show version, YIAY Live, in August 2018.[8] YIAY Time: The Game Show debuted as a YouTube Original pilot on 5 January 2021.[9]
Douglass also adapted YIAY into a Kickstarter-funded board game.[9] He and Galvanic Games released the online party game Be Funny Now! on 17 May 2022.[4] The game adapted the format of YIAY Live.[10] He also published The YIAY Book.
He hosts Erin is the Funny One with his wife Erin.[1] In his interview series The Questions Get Worse, neither he nor his guest knows the questions in advance.[2]
Since 2022, Douglass has criticized SSSniperWolf's reaction videos for using viral clips without attribution. YouTube temporarily demonetized her channel in October 2023 after she posted a video of herself outside his home, and she apologized to him on 20 October.[4]
