LinusTech is a Linus Media Group channel that airs The WAN Show, where Linus and Luke discuss technology news each Friday and take questions from viewers. The channel also broadcasts games and hardware builds.^[1][2] Linus Media Group is the Canadian technology media company that Linus Sebastian and Yvonne Ho founded in 2012.^[2][3]

Its Linus Tech Tips videos cover product reviews and engineering projects, while ShortCircuit focuses on unboxings and first impressions. The WAN Show also covers company news.^[2]

Testing hardware and calculating pi

LMG established LTT Labs as a research and development laboratory to produce testing data for its channels' content.^[4] By May 2025, Linus Media Group and Kioxia had calculated pi to 300 trillion digits, a result Guinness World Records verified. The project used a 2.2-petabyte storage cluster. The computation took nearly seven and a half months, and Linus Tech Tips released a video documenting the project.^[5]

The August 2023 production pause

On August 16, 2023, Linus Media Group announced a pause in video production after criticism of errors in its hardware testing and its handling of a prototype cooler.^[3] It returned after ten days with changes to its testing and review processes.^[6]

In August 2023, a former employee alleged harassment and inappropriate workplace behaviour at Linus Media Group, and the company said it would hire an outside investigator and publish the findings.^[7] PC Gamer reported on May 23, 2024 that, according to the company's summary, the investigation found bullying and harassment claims unsubstantiated and allegations that sexual harassment complaints had been ignored false; the investigator also recommended further staff training on raising concerns and workplace policies.^[7]
