About
Danny Le, known as Shiphtur, played professional League of Legends. He became the first esports player to receive a U.S. athletic visa in 2013. Approved on May 29, the P-1A visa let him live and practise with his League of Legends team in Riverside.[1]
Le was born in Vancouver and moved to Edmonton.[2] He played Counter-Strike before friends introduced him to League of Legends.[3] During his first year in the LCS, he studied at Grant MacEwan University.[2]
Coast, Dignitas and Apex
He previously played for Dirt Nap Gaming.Panda and Team Dynamic.[4] He played midlane for Team Coast in the LCS before joining Dignitas in May 2014.[3][4] Ahead of the 2016 season, he practised in Korean solo queue, which he said felt more like scrims than games in North America.[5]
Apex Gaming acquired Dignitas' Challenger team, including Shiphtur, in May 2016. Later that year, the Philadelphia 76ers bought Apex and Dignitas, and Shiphtur was released from the Apex roster.[4]
