Scorpio streamers

Orion sets as the scorpion rises. In Greek myth the scorpion was sent to kill the hunter, and both ended up in the sky: Orion in winter, the scorpion in summer. The constellation's name is Scorpius; its brightest star is the reddish Antares. The name means "rival of Ares", referring to Mars and their shared color. Mars also rules Scorpio in traditional astrology, while modern astrology assigns Pluto that role. This fixed water sign covers October 23 to November 21. The Sun spends only about six days within the modern constellation's boundaries, November 23 to 28. It spends much longer in neighboring Ophiuchus, which few astrologers use.
