About
Baiano created CBOLÃO, a charity League of Legends tournament, and the Ilha das Lendas broadcasting project.[1][2][3] He won Personality of the Year at the Prêmio eSports Brasil in both 2023 and 2024.[3][4]
CBOLÃO's December 2023 edition at CCXP in São Paulo raised R$289,000 for Hospital de Amor, which specializes in cancer prevention and treatment. Eight teams competed from 1 to 3 December, and LEC Team won the tournament.[2]
Playing career and broadcasting
Gustavo Henrique Barbosa Gomes, known as Baiano, was born in Bom Jesus da Lapa, Bahia, and moved from Recife to São Paulo in 2012 to pursue professional League of Legends.[5] Riot Games suspended Baiano from its official competitions for a year in March 2014 for paid account boosting. Explaining the practice in a 2017 interview, he said boosting had paid more than professional play in Brazil's developing competitive scene.[6] He played support for Keyd Stars before Big Gods announced his signing for the North American Challenger Series in January 2017.[7]
He left professional play to focus on content creation in 2020 and launched Ilha das Lendas in 2023.[5]
