About
Bastian, the German creator known as BastiGHG, builds his videos and streams around Minecraft challenges.[1] He uses a handcam while keeping his face out of his regular broadcasts. He was born in Brandenburg on August 5, 1997, and completed his Abitur in 2016.[1]
GermanHungerGames and daily streams
In 2014, he and a friend started the KompetenzGHG YouTube channel. Bastian later renamed it BastiGHG.[1] The letters GHG in his name come from GermanHungerGames, the name used for his earlier Minecraft channel.[2] He began streaming on Twitch every day on January 14, 2016; in January 2024, he marked eight years of daily broadcasts in a post on his own X account.[3]
A team helps him produce his streams and YouTube videos.[2] He and Papaplatte won the Best Streamer Duo category at the 2025 StreamAwards.[4]
