About

Benjamin Lupo, the American streamer known as DrLupo, worked at PayPal and Mutual of Omaha before streaming became his job. He graduated from Creighton University in 2009 after studying computer science and web development.[1][2]

Fortnite and platform moves

His early streams covered Destiny; Fortnite later brought a larger audience and regular games with Ninja. Escape from Tarkov became another part of his broadcasts.[2] In August 2021 he signed an exclusive YouTube streaming deal. He returned to Twitch in September 2024 and broadcast on both platforms after that agreement expired.[2][3]

Build Against Cancer

The 2021 edition of his annual Build Against Cancer fundraiser was a 24-hour livestream supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In December 2021, his cumulative fundraising for the hospital passed $10 million; that year's event contributed more than $892,000.[4] His wife Sam also helped plan and manage the charity broadcasts.[5]

PogChamps 6

By May 2025, Chess.com had removed Lupo from PogChamps 6 and closed his account for a fair-play violation.[6] He admitted using a chess engine during the tournament and apologized to his opponent and viewers.[7][8]
