About
Jasmin Sibel, who streams as Gnu_Live, makes gaming videos on YouTube. In March 2021, she became Germany's first female gaming YouTuber to reach one million subscribers.[1] She won player of the year at the 2021 German Computer Game Awards and the Goldene Henne in the #OnlineStars category in 2022.[2][3]
Building the Gnu channels
She started making YouTube videos in 2015 while studying New Media with a gaming focus. As Fortnite brought more viewers to her channel, she reduced her other job to part-time and then chose to work on YouTube full-time.[4]
Her Twitch streams range from story and horror games to open-world titles and multiplayer sessions with friends. She posts Let's Plays on Verspieltes Gnu.[5] The Jasmin Gnu channel publishes research and commentary on social issues, including beauty standards and the pressures women face online.[6]
Du schaffst das nicht
Sibel and journalist Lisa Ludwig co-wrote Du schaffst das nicht, which was published in 2022. It reached number one on the Spiegel hardcover nonfiction bestseller list that July.[1]
