Patrick Mayer, known as Paluten, is the creator of Minecraft Freedom, a 380-episode YouTube story about himself and his pig mascot Edgar. The series included appearances by GermanLetsPlay, Zombey and Maudado.[1]
Freedom books and film
The first novel, Freedom. Die Schmahamas-Verschwörung, continued the story in the same fictional world; published on 29 March 2018, it reached number one on the hardcover fiction bestseller list.[1] By November 2024, the nine books then published had sold more than 1.8 million copies, according to LEONINE Studios. That month, Odeon Fiction and Toon2Tango announced an animated Freedom film for a planned 2027 cinema release. Paluten and Klaas Kern were developing the screenplay.[2]
Other videos
He started his main YouTube channel on 17 October 2012 and made Let's Plays across several game genres, as well as occasional vlogs. He streamed regularly on Twitch from August to December 2020 and uploaded edited recordings to Team Paluten before switching that channel to prerecorded reaction videos.[1]
