About

Ben Bowman, known as ProfessorBroman, is a streamer and co-founder of the charity gaming event GuardianCon, later renamed Gaming Community Expo (GCX).[1][2] He was also on the first team to complete Destiny's King's Fall raid in September 2015.[2]

From speedruns to GuardianCon

Bowman started speedrunning Saints Row 3 before moving to Borderlands 2, which he played in a four-person run at Awesome Games Done Quick. He began streaming Destiny when it launched in 2014 and built an audience alongside his brother TeaWrex and KingGothalion.[3]

Their Tampa meetup attracted about 1,000 people to a venue booked for 250. For the following year's gathering, Bowman organized a charity streaming marathon that raised $532,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.[3] An interview marking GCX's tenth anniversary in 2025 reported more than $33 million raised for the hospital.[4]

Coffee and podcasting

Bowman co-founded Kings Coast Coffee and Rare Drop, the company through which he and his partners ran their businesses.[1] He hosted The Broman Show, whose topics expanded from streaming to digital media more broadly.[5]
