About

Zackrawrr is the Twitch channel used by Zack Hoyt, the American streamer known as Asmongold. His broadcasts combine games with reactions to online videos and commentary about the gaming industry.[1][2]

The move to Zackrawrr

In November 2021, during a break from his original Twitch channel, Hoyt said he wanted to use his alternative account to give his opinion on things and talk about what he was reading online. He announced those plans in a November 4 video following his mother's death.[3] By July 2022, he had moved his regular broadcasts to Zackrawrr. By July 2024, he had said that streaming on his original account stressed him; some broadcasts on the alternative channel let him play without a webcam or directly addressing viewers.[1]

MMOs and recognition

World of Warcraft was the focus of his early streaming work, and he drew attention during the launches of Classic in 2019 and Shadowlands in 2020. On July 3, 2021, he streamed Final Fantasy XIV for the first time.[2] His subsequent broadcasts also included New World.[4][1] At the Streamer Awards ceremony held in March 2022, he won Best MMORPG Streamer.[5]
