About

Ayaz Akhmetshin, known as nAts, is a Russian Valorant player who won Masters Berlin with Gambit Esports in 2021.[1][2] He also finished second at Valorant Champions that year.[2][1] He is the in-game leader for Team Liquid.[1][3]

Gambit and the move to Liquid

Akhmetshin joined Gambit in 2020.[1] Its run at Masters Berlin included a semifinal against G2 Esports in which Gambit recorded the first 13-0 map in VCT LAN history.[4] After Gambit released its roster in August 2022, he signed with Liquid that November.[1] He discussed the team's latest rebuild in a January 2026 interview, explaining that Liquid was trying different roles to suit its players' strengths.[5]

University and life in Kazan

He grew up in Kazan and studied law at Kazan Federal University while competing.[6][1] In July 2023, he said he intended to resume his studies after the season and graduate.[7] His account of visits home that year included seeing his family and walking through Kazan, where he enjoyed the architecture and parks.[6]

A panda plush toy accompanied him to matches: a December 2021 interview described him carrying it on stage, backstage and to the venue.[8]
